Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information 5AB Immigration collects through this website, why we collect it, how it is used and stored, and what rights you have over it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
5AB Immigration is an immigration consulting practice led by Harshmeet Pal Singh, a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (licence R708583). For any privacy question, contact info@5abimmigration.com.
1. Information you give us
We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it — principally through the Canada Immigration Roadmap questionnaire, or when you email, call or message us.
Through the roadmap questionnaire this may include:
- Your name, email address and telephone or WhatsApp number
- Your country of residence and country of citizenship
- Age range, marital status and whether you have relatives in Canada
- Highest level of education, and any Canadian education
- Work experience, occupation and whether you hold a Canadian job offer
- Language test status and results
- Your current immigration status in Canada, if any
- Whether you have previously been refused a Canadian visa or permit, and details you choose to give
- Anything else you write in the free-text fields
We do not ask for passport numbers, UCI numbers or scanned documents at enquiry stage, and the form is not designed to receive them. If your matter proceeds, documents are exchanged through a secure channel agreed with you.
2. Information collected automatically
When you visit this site, some information is collected automatically by our analytics and hosting providers:
- Usage data — pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, links and buttons clicked, and which page you arrived on
- Technical data — device type, browser, operating system, approximate location derived from IP address, and referring website
- Campaign data — where your visit came from, including any UTM parameters or advertising click identifiers in the link you followed
We use Google Analytics 4 for this. Google processes the data as described in its own privacy terms, and it may be stored outside Canada. Google Analytics sets cookies and similar identifiers in your browser. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally either way.
The site also stores a small record of how you arrived (landing page, referrer and campaign parameters) in your browser's session storage, so that if you submit the roadmap questionnaire we know which page brought you. It is cleared when you close the browser tab.
3. Why we use your information
We use personal information only for these purposes:
- To prepare and send the Canada Immigration Roadmap you requested
- To answer your enquiry and, where appropriate, to offer a consultation
- To assess whether we can assist you, and with what
- To provide immigration consulting services if you engage us
- To meet our professional, regulatory and record-keeping obligations as a licensed consultant
- To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it
We rely on your consent, given when you tick the consent box on the form or when you contact us directly. Where you become a client, we also process information as necessary to perform our retainer and to comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information. To anyone. Ever.
- We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
- We do not add you to unrelated mailing lists.
- We do not place your personal information in URLs or query strings.
- We do not use your information to make automated decisions that affect you.
5. Who we share information with
Your information is disclosed only where it is necessary, and only to these categories of recipient:
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and other Canadian authorities — where you have engaged us and authorised us to represent you, using IRCC's Use of a Representative form
- Service providers who operate our systems — website hosting, analytics, email and any customer relationship system we use to manage enquiries. They may only process the information to provide their service to us
- Regulators — the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, where required as part of its oversight of licensed consultants
- Where required by law — for example in response to a valid legal obligation or court order
6. Where your information is held
This website is hosted on Netlify's infrastructure, and our analytics provider is Google. Both operate globally, so your information may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States, and may be accessible to the courts and law enforcement authorities of those countries under their own laws.
By submitting information through this website you acknowledge this. If you would prefer not to have your information handled this way, contact us by telephone instead.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become files — retained for a reasonable period to answer follow-up questions, then deleted on request or when no longer needed.
- Client files — retained for the period required by the professional obligations that apply to licensed immigration consultants, and then securely destroyed.
- Analytics data — retained according to the retention period set in Google Analytics.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — which is why we ask you not to send identity documents by ordinary email.
9. Your rights
You may, at any time:
- Ask what we hold about you, and receive a copy
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to any record-keeping obligations that apply to a licensed consultant
- Withdraw your consent to being contacted, at any time
- Complain if you believe your information has been mishandled
Email info@5abimmigration.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Complaints about our professional conduct can be made to the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.
10. Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 other than as part of a family immigration matter where a parent or guardian provides it.
11. Links to other websites
We link to official sources such as IRCC, the Government of Canada and the CICC. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here, so it is worth re-reading before submitting new information.
